A Thousand Suns: Failed Expirement or Masterpiece Story?

which do u think ATS is. It is very unlike the rest, has fewer regular songs, and is widely controversial. But on the other hand, it is the only album that indicates a story to it. Here are some examples:

In Jornada Del Muerto, it says two japanese words four times in a row. I looked up the translation and they are saying:

Lift me up

Let me go

Also, the album kind of has a build up from the beginning all the way up to the calalyst.

I think the latter and that this is a masterpiece story (maybe their best album ever). What do you think?

And Yes i agree wid u! It is truly an artistic masterpiece! U might notice dat it is not a collection of songs! Rhere is a flow from beginning 2 the end of it! And, it's just awesome! :-)

Of course it's great. The albums such as Meteora sells better but I can't discover what they want to show in the whole album.

It's true, A Thousand Suns is a widely controversial album because of all the experimental tracks. Most people in my school call it a horrible album and apparently miss what Linkin Park started out as - metal.

I strongly disagree, however.

First off, there are few bands that can stay the same all the time and continue to make a big impression on crowds and haul in more fans. Linkin Park has the potential to be like that, and their willingness to go out into the world and experiment with whole other styles of music and to keep changing is what earns them my respect as a band. I agree with what someone once said on the Internet: "Anyone who calls themselves a Linkin Park fan will like the new album even if it's different to its predecessors."

A Thousand Suns is a masterpiece, like all the rest.

Personally, i think it is as strong as Hybrid Theory, just in a different way. There are very few albums I would listen to on repeat, even after a year of owning it! LP are changing and growing. Not everyone will like that, but think about how many bands have lasted 10/20/30 years, still producing quality music (U2, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd - not everyone will agree with this list!) and the common theme is that the bands have tried different approaches and methods across the years. The other common theme is....there aren't too many groups with longevity, who have the creativity or ability to continue to make music that isn't just a repeat of previous albums.

I've been a LP fan from the very beginning. My favourite albums are probably Hybrid and ATS (with ATS edging it at the moment). Hopefully, Living things will be another masterpiece!
