Excellent Numb Cover
Fellow Soldiers,
I wanted to bring to your attention a brilliant cover of Numb that was recently sent to me on Twitter. As Numb is one of my favourite LP songs, I must admit I was worried that the cover would be a total let down. However, within the first 30 seconds I was hooked. The band (Virgin Soldiers- they must be LP fans too!) who took on the challenge of covering this fantastic hit have truly breathed new life into the song & I for one would love to see them receive the coverage that they deserve. Their mix of classical strings with more contemporary instruments, a bass, acoustic guitar and piano, creates an extremely refreshing sound and I am sure that LP themselves would appreciate the subtlety and beauty of their arrangement. With two strong vocalists, male and female, they have put together a cover that stands alone well as a song, but also holds onto many elements of the original. The video is fun as well! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. If anything, it would be amazing to see Numb back in the public eye again, it is such an amazing song.
