When was it released? I mean the exact date on. And was it for US-only?

*I'm talking about its first release
The First album from LINKIN PARK
No it's not. Their name was still 'Hybrid Theory', not 'Linkin Park' yet.

So The First name is 'Hybrid Theory' .
Yes they were known as Hybrid Theory befor LP, but because of name/copyright legalities they desided to change the name to LP.

I think the first release was in 1999, though i don't know the exact date

sok tau
papercut is my favorite song, but and one is a very close second! mike's verse is the best ever at the end there.

i'm not sure exactly what inspired it, but i know mike and joe both did a version. one looked more evil/demonic than the other. i think i seen that on frat party at the pancake festival dvd.

Does anyone know where I could get the HTEP?
You should've just started one thread all about the LPU fan-club CD's. ;D

^ The "Hybrid Theory" EP was a self-titled EP released independently by the band back when they were called Hybrid Theory. <.< There were only five-hundred copies produced and most of them wound up with label executives. The band renamed themselves Linkin Park and used "Hybrid Theory" as the title of their major-label debut in 2000, and, a year later, re-release the "Hybrid Theory" EP for their fan club. :)

I don't have much to say about the EP, except that I think it's awesome; the production on it is incredible -- in fact, it surprised me how all the band's pre-Warner demo's sounded so well-produced. Goes to show how much of a perfectionist Shinoda is. ;)

Bought this off of eBay sealed for $70. Loving every minute of it.

An original copy? :x 'Cause I doubt you found an original copy ...

Ah I wish it was the original copy. I've got the 2001 copy. I saw an original one on eBay for over $400 with at least 20 bids on it, so I won't be getting that... ever.

So, basically, you paid $70 for an LPU CD? ;*
