2nd Linkin Park show that I have attended in my 35 years of life. The first show I saw them on their Minutes to Midnight tour. It was, by far, the MOST AMAZING concert experience I have ever had in my life. Chester was kind enough to read my poster that said, "YOUR WORDS MEAN SO MUCH TO ME" I couldn't wait for them to come to Chicago for A Thousand Suns.
See, I consider my flesh a canvas for expression of life's journey. Every bit of ink that has been put into my flesh has very deep meaning to me; tribute to my father, surviving my skydiving accident, hanging on to Hope and Faith, remembering that life is a dynamic, evolving ride... I decided to pay tribute to the two most influential bands in my life, as music is the beat of my heart. On my left forearm is Led Zeppelin, one of the most amazing bands ever to have been created. And on my right forearm is Linkin Park. God has somehow synched Linkin Park's music to run directly to my ever changing life... and I do not believe it is a coincidence.
I spent A LOT of time and I spend A LOT of money to ensure that this concert experience would rival their last. I checked the United Center's seating chart and VERY carefully chose my seats, so that I might be a close part of the experience. I was EXTREMELY disappointed after I had been escorted to my $300 seats to find that the stage was triangular, not rectangular, which in essence had me sitting nearly BEHIND the stage. The shape of this stage tended to have the musicans stand at the pinnacle and very rarely come around to the side that I was sitting on, very rarely acknowledging our presence. My heart sank.
With that being said, I was blessed enough to have Chester come over to our side of the stage and sing for us on that side of the venue. I took that opportunity to display the sign that I had brought to this show and reflected how I feel about A Thousand Suns. Chester was kind enough once again to read my poster, this time saying, "YOUR WORDS KEEP ME ALIVE" The other side read, "...LET IT GO CHRIS" reminding me to let go of all of my frustration and sadness over what a disaster my life has become in the last 10 months. He acknowledged me and that he had read my words. This was the highlight of the show for me.
It makes me wonder where God will lead my life and Linkin Park in the future...

Permalink Reply by HybridSoIdier on January 27, 2011 at 8:15pm Hell yes I just woke up from the daze that was the Chicago United Center INSANELY AWESOME concert. I'm trying to reconnect with a few people... keep up contact. Check my pics... one of you i know will recognize the pic we took... and maybe the few others will recognize me too. After i bought my custom LP hoodie... maybe some may not recognize me... but i'll try to replicate the outfit and get pics... at any rate i'm rambling!!!!
The summit was incredible. I never thought i'd be so close to the band.... let alone get backstage or even have such a fantastic experience.
My voice is still recovering.... and Chester does this what.... everyday? I love you LP and i love you LPU members... we've all got such a drive for an amazing band.
Sorry for the sap... sorry for the ramble... never going to apologize for who i am!!! Take care all!
I have had 16 surgeries all for medical reasons, two years ago I had a heart surgery and that was my breaking point find out about that. I just started to understand all of this stuff that was going on in my life WHY ME? As we all know when your heart doesnt work right your emotions start to go heywire. Well since I have had 2 other open heart surgeries something was going to get fixed one way or another when I got older.
As my surgery was gradually getting closer and closer I started to become very very depressed and suicidal. I also was dealing with my first crush in High School as well. She led me on to the point where I had a knife about to make contact with my skin. I had an addiction to it if you want to call it that. Before my heart surgery I wrote a very horrible note on Facebook saying that i was going to drink so much caffeine that my heart will race then give out.
Then my parents found me a therapist he introduced me to LINKIN PARK. All of a sudden all of those feels of anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts magically went away. I listen to Linkin Park at least 10 times a day now because of how much of an impact this band has changed me for the better. I still suffer from Chronic Heart Disease. I also suffer from addiction of stimulant drugs (caffeine). Even tho I have heart issues

Aaron Halvorson said:Awesome! Thanks KeshiyaLP! I've always wanted to meet my favorite band of all time growing up. I was just a kid at 11 years of age listening to Hybrid Theory. Ten years later, all six of LP's band members are still together, holding strong, and that's awesome! It's great that they've decided to do these Summits. I CAN'T wait for the Chicago Summit next month! :D

Permalink Reply by RedtoBlack on January 31, 2011 at 9:29pm I can mark this dream as a reality now. I waited so long to go to a concert and meet the band. And I got to do both yesterday. The T-shirt event, the Summit, the concert.... I can't stop smiling! Everyone I tell I just get so hyper and into telling them! The people I met there, though I don't remember your names(I'm sorry for that. I just have a bad memory. But if I see you, I'll recognize you!) was also a true blessing. I hope the couple that was smushed next to me during the concert made it home safe, I know they were heading to New York today and they got a bad storm. I'm so glad I got my shirt signed by LP. It's going on the wall. This will forever be one of the best days in my life. To be able to sing to my heart's content with soooooooooo many people was SIMPLY AMAZING!! I cannot possibly thank LP enough for coming into my life and providing such incredible and life touching music. I can't wait til the next one!!! =D
