"Eminem is funny. Eminem is also a homophobic jerk." - Mike Shinoda

Now, whether or not Mike actually said that, I'm not sure. I can't really find a source. But I digress.

Eminem and Linkin Park should seriously consider recording a song together.

Now, I'm sure I'm not the first person to bring up the idea. In fact, just Youtube search "Eminem and Linkin Park mashup" (Or click the multiple links I reference below.) Easily millions of views have gone into many fan-made mash ups. The most popular of which being the well-known Numb/Encore mash up.
Which is exactly where I'll start.

The easiest way to connect Linkin Park and Eminem is through a well-known man named Shawn Corey Carter, or as you may know him, Jay-Z. Eminem and Jay-Z may only have one song recorded together, but they're quite obviously good friends. The Comerica Park/Yankee Stadium concerts they did together brought out thousands, as Eminem marked his return into the Hip-hop/Rap world. If LP/Jay-Z can work, why couldn't Eminem and Linkin Park?
If anything, Eminem could appeal far better to Mike's emcee skills than most other rappers out there.

Rapping isn't just about writing rhymes. Anyone can do that. It's about bringing out real emotions in your words. Your voice becomes the instrument. It inspires. There may be no two people who understand this better than Mike and Marshall. It's not just about making money. Its about writing about serious topics. Mike sarcastically explains this in "Cigarettes."

And it's not just Eminem over Linkin Park instrumentals. Examples of how well it can sound the other way around exist.

Or instrumentals even placed together.

You can take a step back and realize that Linkin Park can be lyrically more Hip-Hop than you may consider.

And don't just assume that only older Linkin Park and Eminem would work together.

In a year when both Eminem and Linkin Park have been placing high on charts internationally, these two giants would appeal to massive amounts of fans. This genre crossing collaboration would be heard by millions. And I know it wouldn't disappoint.

Eminem has been doing songs with a ton of different artists lately. I don't think he would even think twice about a chance to cross-genre's with a new song.

Linkin Park hasn't done many songs featuring other artists, but to even go out as far as Busta Rhymes proves that they aren't picky either.

Don't ask why. Ask why not?

Now, I opened with Mike's statement to discuss one important thing many people may overlook when thinking about this idea: Linkin Park and Eminem have both changed considerably not only since the start of their careers, but since they've sold chart-topping albums. Eminem has matured as an artist. Linkin Park has as a band. They have both purposely pulled away from their own patterns, because they know that change is necessary. Both have totally revolutionized their own genres.

And consider the experience that would go into this. Mike Shinoda and Dr. Dre (as he often produces Eminem's tracks) working together to produce a song just sounds amazing.

To any fans out there who read this, just consider the idea. Even if you despise Eminem, even if you hate Rap and Hip Hop, consider all of what I have said. The linking of these two genres by these masters of genres couldn't possibly go wrong. Spread the word. If Linkin Park would even just consider the idea or working with Eminem, I could rest easy.

And if by some miracle that any band member of LP actually reads this, pull some strings and talk to some people. It's a chance that should not be missed.

that dose not sound like anything mike would say, mike is way to nice, and happy,
and is filled with way to much love for humanity to say something like that.
you speek as if Eminem is this really great guy, he's ok its not that i don't like him but i will not give as much credit as you are , for one he is to pissed for my life my, he has a serious problem with his wife that he should keep to himself bout wanting to kill 99.9% of time. he's really not as great as some people say, he just suck's .
Let's see...New "revolutionized" music from 2 totally different artists...One raps about HIS life....the other raps about REALITY FOR THE WORLD whilst singing an inspiring message to all...It may sound dandy but all in all....that just doesn't sound right. No offense to Eminem and LP but just because they're both popular in their own ways and have both gone through new styles of their music, that doesn't necessarily mean they can be put together. Personally, I don't like the idea. And I did consider it. I did ask "why not?" What stopped me...is my love for LP's lyrics and those lyrics should not be tampered with by words of "my wife this, i love the way you lie that, my children this, my past that, im high blah blah blah"....Eminem may have changed his way of music, but it all sounds the same to me whereas LP is now singing about THE FUTURE. So....the idea is a no-no :( Lyric-wise, anyways

yeah just my opinion but if u do not think Eminem is good , lyrics-wise ... u must be outta Ur damn skulls .... in fact, lyricwise Linkin Park is nowhere near Eminem ..... an example : they say music can alter moods and talk to you ... but can it load a gun for you and cock it too ?
as for Different lyrics ... a rock band CANNOT talk about their lives ... ITS A BAND... get t ??
if you hear Mike Shinoda in Fort Minor you'll realize what Rap music is about and just broaden your narrow mind

I created an account for one purpose... to reply to your comment. It fucking made me angry why would you say that, Eminem changed and it's been for years now. I don't think you have the right to judge him in such a brutal way. Do you even know what he went through? Don't be so narrow minded...
