when they started off i really liked the collaboration that they made, but it seems that they r more leading towards types of rock. thought some of these songs do sound good, i have to say that that i kinda like their older stuff better. but, one thing is for sure, i'll always b a linkin park fan.

I agree, there old music was better. I personally loved how they sounded in Meteora. If they stayed like omg... awesome

I like to put it this way. I prefer their "old" style of music, but while their "new" style pales in comparison to HT/Meteora, it's still far better than what most rock bands have to offer these days.

Sure, everyone prefers the first hits. It's the same with almost every other music artist. They come out with a bang and then the sensation settles down. The miracle of Linkin Park, is that they haven't settled down yet...after 10 years.

BTW, 'What I've Done" topped "Numb' and "New Divide" is Linkin Park's biggest hit to date. So the quality of their songs haven't diminshed at all.

I just want to point out that chart success and "big hits" do not equal high quality. I'm generally of the mind that LP's (and pretty much every other band I listen to) better songs are ones that haven't been released as singles

Though New Divide is one of my favourite LP songs.

I think LP has always had a unique sound, whether its HT, Meteora, MTM, Reanimation or whatever. But yeh, their new style is refreshing, and I enjoyed Blackbirds, but I wouldnt be disappointed if they took a heavier approach, with maybe a little more of MS in the mix. That said, I still dont understand the hype around New Divide; imo its probably one of my least favorite LP songs.

I hope Linkin Park is going to get old style. I think their songs from Hybrid Theory and Meteora are much better than Minutes to Midnight. LP is the best in mix of rock, metal and rap - not pop and ballads. I love tracks like Faint, With You, From the Inside, Don't Stay, Points of Authority. etc. I promote their previous songs were better than now.

I would like to LP get back to climate from Mateora and HT.
Whatever I love you LINKIN PARK!!!!!

That's so true! My favorite Linkin Park songs are the ones that were never released. I think the success of their singles are tied with speculation, so the charts aren't really liable. Especially with the music industry now. You're totally right :)

Previous songs were more underground, and people who really liked that music... Will still like that music the most... But their new music has a bigger connection to other people who were not in that underground world. Thansk to the new MTM Album, my dad likes to listen them... Before MTM he said LP was... (No music, to metal.. to hard..) He always said, they got talent and Chester had a great voice... and when MTM came, he was like: Well, this is a good thing.

So I'm really happy because of MTM...
