they sound similar, but i dont think it's a rip off. the guitar is at a lower pitch on hero and the tempo is faster on papercut.

Thank you! I thought it was me at first, but still every time I hear the opening I think it's "Papercut" and crank it then I'm disappointed ever time cause it's that other song again! It sucks cause the Skillet song is not a bad tune, I just come into it with a bad taste in my mouth every time I hear it.

As you can see, even some rhymes are similar all along the song. It's a shame and some ppl still keep saying that it's totally different. -,-

You guys are clearly not musically inclined. Different tone, pitch, tempo, notes even. Drum patterns different, everything is different. Sure, the guitar bit SOUNDS slightly similar, but in no way did they "rip off" Linkin Park. Mind you, I have been a die hard fan of LP since day one, and love every single album and B side and Demo they have out there. (I have over 4 gigs worth of music of LP alone including demos and multiple versions of songs).

not a rip off but imo pretty much "inspired".

I'm a musician, I try of my best to make something original
and I felt like this similarity was not accidental so I was a bit
pissed off XD

exactly what i was trying to say. the song itself is totally different from papercut. i know cause i have both songs on my playlist when i jog.
