Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the kind words, especially after some of the powerful pieces you've posted. :-) My novels are published, but not my poetry. I've always considered my poems personal, best shared with those who can appreciate them. It's like this quote; it's one of my favorites:

"Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self." Cyril Connolly

Here's a poem... hopefully it's better:

"Midnight Goth"

Just walking around in the darkness of the night
Full moon rising, I begin to roam alone in the city that sleeps
I then found myself listening to the voices again tonight
It's so cold, hearing the anger of the voices while my soul is asleep
So tormented but I then walked away from the light
It's okay - I love me

So this midnight Goth is me, walking like I'm alive
And I sleep at daytime, but sometimes I don't mind sunlight
It's all good for this is my lifestyle after all
As a Goth and a Bisexual - one day the preppies will meet the downfall

Don't worry, I will be fine
Just don't mind me - I'm a minor threat today in this time.

Memories lost

A stream violently bleeds
out from a hill
kid's blood flows
down on the street
still empty, more impius
that's how you will feel

Memories lost,like a ghost
crawl back from the past,
you can see, it's like this
from the shoot of a gun
in which the yell
of the soldier
blurs in whispers of preyers.

And the sang
of the phoenix
gets mixed with them
she does know
that all wars
raise just like her,
from ashes they reborn
and there's never end...

@JJ: Wow just wow, that last poem was truly amazing. I have no words to express, it's just great.
@Fulvia:Your poems were very nice and I especially enjoyed Memories Lost, it was well written. Good work! :)
@Amy: I liked your newest poem, it was pretty well written. I can still see some of the angst and it seems like you're trying too hard to let people know who you are, which kind of stops the structure dead. Nonetheless it's a good poem and I can see myself liking your future works more and more.

This is my latest, not too proud of it but I thought I'd share.

Sugar Stained Kiss

Come now old friend
with sugar stained kisses
so full of vulgarities
lost in the clock-work
of the morning’s slow structure

The rain will pit-pat

Outside on the windows
so far from closed
have the answers all been fed
into the burning wood
Keeping us warm
cos thru bitter tastes
I can’t find any truth
outside the self-contained flames

It happened
As soon as the birds
took flight

South for the winter

I saw you
under rain’s pit-pat
keeping warm
without fire’s light

Then you come back
Sugar Stained Kiss

Your lips weren’t always on mine

echoes of laughter

my mind

insecurity

paranoia

etched in my skin

surrounded, shrouded

in the inevitable

hideous

This poem illustrates the thing that makes poems the best they can be - brutal honesty, especially when relating a feeling you see inside yourself and having the courage to reveal it to the world. This is an exceptional piece, vivid, no nonsense, simple, and beautiful. Bravo. More, please.

There are nights that I remember
More than many
More than most
As much of me is substance as a motherfucking ghost
I’ve been in snow
And rain and fall
My summer ever fleeting
All in life is dead, defeating
Never will I live
Or ever will forgive

Those who hurt me
Those who left me
All alone to die
Who gave me tears to cry
God, I hate you
Just berate you
Killing me’s the game
It’s always been the same

There are nights I find regretting

@Michelle: That latest piece was very nice. I especially loved the last few lines. Very good stuff. And as JJ said more please :)
@JJ: I really enjoyed 'Killing Me's the Game, it had a little angst but you used it well. That was probably (at least to me) your angriest piece. Very well done!
