I have loved LP for 9 years, I was in 3rd grade, and over the years I listened to every cd they put out. Whether it be studio, remix, live.....anything! I had it. I memorized all their songs and watched the Live in Texas so much I damn near memorized Chester's moves on stage. I dealt with the BS of people saying they sucked and they weren't a real band, but I didn't care because they were MY favorite band. And then they gave me....excuse me...US they give US this...song???? Can it be called a song?? Or how bout we label it..."The sign that LP sold out...HARD!!!" What is up with this techno/electric vibe?? They used to be the definition of nu metal and creativity. All their songs were amazing and they had amazing energy on stage. Even when I was watching the Road to Revolution dvd I was like "Wtf are they wearing..." They are pop culture sellouts now and it's horrible
R.I.P LP I give up....

Its the new direction and sound but catalyst has good meaningful lyrics its jus not the hardcore emo old lp that I loved as well. M2M had that same strong lyrics n sound in given up, bleed it out, what I've done, hands held high and no more sorrow. I don't think the album was up to par with the rest but they have been doing there thing sine 1999, great sound for that many years.
why do you keep saying emo?? LP is not emo music...
Emo music is considered that of Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, things of that nature....not LP. LP is, or was depending on the rest of the new album, alternative/nu-metal

Other people were using emo, but come on, listen to the lyrics there kinda emo, not in a bad way mind u but emo is usually generally defined by the lyrics of how bad things are, cryen about it blah blah.crawling in my skin these wounds will not heal.. Emo. Its like crying over something....aka.. In the end, lying from you, numb... Basically all the songs on ht n meteora. Sadness, grief, lonlyniss in all the songs is emo. I love it but there closer to emo then rock, goth, hardcore. Numetal was kinda a gd term for harder emo with sum rap in it. But everyone has there own definitions of emo. It isn't a bad thing I love lp, emo or numetal.
oh my godddddddddddddddddddddddddd i HATE the word 'emo'.
seriously, it makes my skin crawl. linkin park have been, and always will be, the FURTHEST thing from emo. i certainly don't slit my wrists with black eyeliner streaming down my face while i listen to them. and, in fact, when i sing at the top of my voice along with chester until i croak, and manage to rap a whole song without stopping at my most badass'ist along with mike, i feel empowered. like i'm on top of the world. it makes me happy.
but that's just me.
ughhhhh i hate the fact that some people would say i listen to 'emo music' EEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
bleeeeeeghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

okay, so maybe that was an overreaction, but that's seriously how i feel about the term 'emo'.
and how i feel about the music linkin park produces.
i think i said it pretty well.
no no no no noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

they will NEVER be emo, no matter what your definitions are.

they're their own thing, and always will be.

Woah, what did I ever do to you? I just answered to the question in the discussion title, which is what I believe the discussion is about. And I don't really get the granny porn thing... Jake Ingram said:
Wow, thankyou for sharing your opinion shit head, I know what your trying to say and I completely agree except for the granny porn part. Honestly though, you need to get out of the isle.

I totaly agree with you, a good example of a dramatical change is Papa Roach.
why are you posting this? i mean, the real LP fan wouldn't comparing the "new" or "old" LP. i even think there is no old/new Linkin Park. they still the same. yeah maybe they've changed, but that's not a bad thing. cuz a band wouldn't still be the same after years. just example like Nickel Back, and the other bands that used to be great and kickin butts, but now they're boring. first time i heard The Catalyst, i thought it was awful. but then when i kept listening to it, i enjoyed it, and now i like it. hey dude, you just heard 1 song, 1 SONG from the entire 1 album that you haven't even heard yet, and now you give up? seriously?
p.s. they're not dead, YOU dead.
As we all grow do we all stay the same?...Well maybe some people don't which might not be too good for them but if your a Linkin Park fan you have to ride with them all the way no matter how they decide to change there music style. If not keep Hybrid Theory on repeat and don't listen to any of there music. I personally like there new single and that's because a listen to so many genre's that I can vibe with it. If you just love metal and screaming at the top of your lungs then your not going to like what there doing. I freakin' love everything they've done from the beginning to know. I'll ride with them till the end.

what do you mean childish language?? Avo Singh said:
Thank you for ditching the childish language.
Well said my friend. Ride with LP until the wheels fall off.

I hate to say this but they still are creative. You can't really base your opinion on one song. A song that is quite great as a matter of fact. People said the same things about Meteroa and Minutes To Midnight, about how the style was changing and how they hated it. You wouldn't want every album to stay the same they would get old quick. Linkin Park is still a Nu Metal band, but they are also exlporing new styles. Which any good band should do. Clothing styles also change with the times, that doesn't mean that they are becoming a pop band. It just means that they are wearing clothes. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but a true Linkin Park fan would appreciate the fact that they are exploring, not changing, and would be excited to hear the new album. I've been listening to Linkin Park since i was 6 yrs old, and i haven't stopped loving them. GO LINKIN PARK ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
