I lived in Denver, CO when Linkin Park first came out. I remember listening to the first song on the LP album  and being so angry because I despise rap and assumed the album was more of the same.  It wasn't until the second song I began to realize the poetry in the lyrics.

Linkin Park inspired me through a depression so great I though I would die.  Now, as I type, I see the wrinkles in my hands, and can pause with admiration for the strength and courage they helped inspire, even if it was the simple will to live. Never once did their song encourage me to end me life, to give up, to walk away.

My favorite song, to date, is "Great Divide."  Still, to this day, they can bring tears to my eyes.  I am a mother of three, and I hope to pass on their music to my children,  I hope that someone would be so kind as to perpetuate this post so someone from their band may see it, and accept my appreciation for all they have inspired.

I wish Chester the best with his endeavors with STP, and I wish the band my most heartfelt thanks and the best of luck to whatever lies ahead in their life.

linkin park inspired me to recover from anorexia and never look back. i mean, i had recovered, but would always go back to more of the same. and when i first heard a thousand suns, something just clicked for me. i knew they really love their fans, and care about making music that has a very integral and meaningful message. i really feel loved when i listen to them, and can't say that for alot of music i've listened to. i am now 2 years recovered and hope to keep a very long track record. and i would also like to say thank you chester, brad, dave, rob, mike, and joe you have eternally changed my life.
