I totally hate this stereotype with rock and that it is demonic, i constantly get from my friends, i live in a country where not a lot of people listen to rock music, and i get criticized a lot for it being demonic but when you listen to most rock songs and their lyrics they have pretty good meanings especially Linkin Park they're my most favorite band!

I consider myself a Christian. I enjoy most of Linkin Park's songs. I find the lyrics to be thought provoking and insightful. Most of their songs can be interpreted in many different ways. I interpret the meanings to some of their songs as quite spiritual. Maybe my interpretations weren't how the songs were intended but they demonstrate great principles and values in the songs. For example when I listen to the lyrics to Iridescent. In the first verse I imagine Jesus at the cross and how he must have felt. The second verse I imagine the creation of the world. These verses make me able to "Let it go". I realize this song could also be interpreted as from the perspective of a soldier in a war but there are many ways of looking at it. Any way you slice it the lyrics to that song are amazing and encouraging. The song "The Messenger" has been significant to me this year in encouraging me to press on against tremendous discouragement. Linkin Park is my son's favorite band and a great bunch of guys. Not remotely satanic or evil. If anyone accuses them of being satanic just show them the lyrics to any of their songs. To anyone, particularly Christian's, who are criticized for liking Linkin Park and other thoughtful artists "HANG IN THERE" be strong and keep listening. The heart is what's important. People like different styles of music. Not much is worse than the empty lyrics of many of today's pop songs. Even some of that "Christian" type pop.

U guys can take d lyrics of The Catalyst and show it to d ppl who say they're satanic, btw, Crystal, i joined this group cuz i believe in every religion cuz God is one and the same, it's just the way ppl take Him. Almost all Fort Minor and LP sngs have a great meaning, like take Right Now or The Hard Way frm Fort Minor, and Hands Held High and what I've done frm LP. and Hillsong songs also have electric guitar parts and a lil taste of rock, but it's not satanic!

Do u listen to Hillsong? They have every song on God, btw.

I completely agree with you guys. My mom has this idea that ALL rock is satanic. JUST because it's loud. I mean, suppose I were to write a rock song. Would the fact that I classified it as rock automatically make it satanic? Suppose I were to take the SAME lyrics and put in a slower song. Does that remove the "satanic meaning" that was supposedly put there by the genre of music? She thinks all rock/metal/screamo etc. has subliminal messages... When it doesn't.
