Ahem...I totally agree with Sophie n Evolet! :) Seriously im facin the same problem with the ppl around me...Ppl believe that I dont love God or that im supporting Satan...just becoz they dont like my music n they find it too hard!I also listen to metal...not only rock! Especially my parents, they think that im not listening to a real music, its something else which definitely is not for relaxin ir havin a good time...But I cant understand them! xD I need this music to sleep,  and relax n all that stuff :P Why does the "hard" music with the screams mean that its something diabolic, satanic etc..?I will never understand their logic!Besides, LP never have made any song talkin clearly abt satan, whereas they sing abt more essential topics that the chick that left them, the sex they wanna have n the money they want!!!!The Catalyst says clearly: "GOD BLESS US EVERYONE"!!!!!!! GOD not satan!! I will never be able to understand them...I think that ppl dont really care about the lyrics of the songs, just abt the kind of the music...cause amoralistic lyrics exist in every pop song (as Sophie said) but because its a "softer" music, if I can use this word, they like it..!?

Yes, there is such a thing as Christian rock and rap.  Some have crossed over to main stream ( Skillet, P.O.D. Evansence) some are still underground ( John Ruben, Toby Mac, Grits, Pillar, L.A. Symphony, Mars ill) the artist i name are just a few i listen to. There's also Christian R&B ( Kirk Frankiln, Mary Mary, Deitrick Haddon, J.Moss, kiki sheard) There is alot of good Chritian music out there it just takes time to find it.

I aggree with you,Evolet!

You know,I listen to rock music and bands whose songs' lyrics are quite depressing,talking about suicide and all this stuff...

People have implied several times that I listen to satanic songs and have looked at me in a strange way a lot of times...!

I DO BELIEVE IN GOD though!!!It doesn't mean that if someone likes music with drums and a hard vibe in their ears that they are freaks!And to be frank,lyrics of pop artists and hip hop or other kinds of music talk about drugs and sex...how can these lyrics be more ethical than rock ones?Do these lyrics pass the correct meaning to us youngsters????I don't think so.There DO exist songs talking about issues that seem to be diabolic and it is up to an individual whether they choose to listen to them or not.However,not ALL rock songs have such a meaning....!

So it is again a matter of racism.We have to admit that there are not as many rock fans as pop ones or anything else.And that's because of advertising and the fact that not many ppl are in search of GOOD music.So they know so little things and that's why they judge rock so harsh.In every music genre there are bands and songs better than other ones.It is not fair to generalize everything.And of course,there are difficult times for everyone and we don't always feel like listenning to happy,dancing songs.

I love God and believe in what he says. I don't like it that people in my church are always telling me "You can't be christian and still listen to the music you listen to, it's diobolical." I don't believe that, I believe that rock bands like LP are just saying what we face everyday in a deeper tones. Btw there are Christian rock bands out there! So what are they talkin' bout? Just cuz it don't sound like stupid pop don't mean it's diobolical. Just look at the freakin' lyrics and you'll understand! We don't always feel like bubblegum and lollipops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
