About The Band

Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries. Its following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200’s album charts in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world. In 2007 they released Minutes To Midnight, the sound was different but the songs were great. Now in 2010 they are in the studio working on their 4th studio album which will be released in Late 2010.

In 2007 I was involved in an accident with my horse which resulted in a severely broken ankle. For a whole year I was operated upon several times, and confined to bed. Finally Sept 2008, due to massive infection that built up, my right leg was amputated just below the knee. Ever since life has been dedicated to rehab and  learning to cope without my leg. I got to go back to rehab in 2009, a year after the op, to get a prosthetic leg and learn how to use it. Why am I telling you all this? Because I don't know how I would have coped without Linkin Park. There were times when it got so difficult and painful, I'd be tempted to give in. When I played LP, it inspired me to keep going and I swore to myself that the next time LP came out to Australia I would be at that concert, and I would walk. That became my motivation, and December 13th 2010 I attended the "A Thousand Suns Tour", and although I was in a wheelchair because of the distance I was required to go, I could and did walk around the Arena, and never felt better. As an LPU member, I applied to the M & G, checked my email just before leaving & nothing. When I got home, I discovered an email telling me I was in and was going to meet the band. I was crushed and seriously upset, but not just because somehow I missed out on meeting LP. I was upset because all I wanted to do was to tell the band members what they had done, and continue to do for me through their music. I can't express my gratitude enough for their creativity, imagination, mind-blowing musical talent and the guts to take life on the way they do. So I will say here, Thank you Linkin Park from the bottom of my heart, you gave me hope when there was little to be found, inspiration and motivation when things got so tough I wanted to cry. You still do this for me, and I suspect always will. You keep me walking. Love, Emily
