For me it is the same as yours' (In The End, Crawling, By Myself) but also add Runaway to the mix. Those four songs describe me the most of the songs off the album. Crawling is my favorite song by them; I think they wrote it about Chester's previous addiction to Meth, but to me it just means a lot about emotional angst and also keeping stuff inside you instead of expressing yourself, which has terrible results. Runaway reminds me of actual physical moments where the pain made me feel like running away, and I look back at those times when I listen and feel glad that I didn't. By Myself (to me) is about overwhelming stress, and an inevitable tragic ending, and being all alone in the world, being the bad guy who isn't really bad inside, or just being stuck in-between. And In The End I can relate to hopelessness, which ironically when I listen to it I gain more hope; I wonder why?

Wish i could find a way to disappear

Permalink Reply by Mike Mantecon on October 5, 2012 at 4:52pm Yeah papercut and One step closer are good ones too. Actually I think all of them are descriptive of life. Everyone feels like there's a whirlwind inside of their head and they can't stop what they're hearing within, all the bad thoughts, the failure, and then this train of thought goes into By Myself. But I don't think I really relate to One Step Closer mostly, because by nature I'm usually a Pacifist, and don't feel those feelings of anger that often. But I can't say it hasn't happened at all in my life, I've had my share of that mess. So back on topic, no wonder the album's sold 24 million copies, because of how it relates to life . . . and hopes of healing
