oh and balancing? Well, trust me, if you are worried you can't balance because you tried on still water, you shouldn't worry, a wave is much easier (maybe u already knew this? xD) But you just really have to go with the wave, feel it, go in it's direction, and that is how you balance the best, there is really no trick around it...

yeah i skateboard a little bit...but i really enjoy surfing a lot better, because it is much more of a challenge, it's kinda like skateboarding, but where the ground (wave) you are skating on is moving along with you.
