Caelum...I couldn't have said it better myself. Like I said, I'm still a fan. I'll keep listening to their music as long as they keep making it as good as they have. I've just gotten to a point where the LPU membership doesn't seem worth what we're asked to pay anymore. If other people want to give up their money and hope for better things, then that's their business. But unless I see The Underground caring more about its members, I'm not going to renew when my membership expires.

Chris, I'm not sure about getting to the floor first. I, personally, didn't think the VIP treatment was worth the extra money, because it seemed all flash with no real benefits, but you should try to find out. Shoot, with the extra money you had to spend for it, they should give you more than just a tee shirt, program, and lanyard.... I don't know that it would help at all, but you could try http://app.topspin.net/support/linkinpark/2773. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, there's a link that says "ticketing forum"; if they can't answer your question, they might at least have a better idea of who can. I hope everything works out well for you.

i bought the VIP package for the concert in dallas and i was just wondering if the whole VIP thing is worth it. yeah u get a shirt, program, and a lanyard...but in my mind a VIP would be at the front row at concerts. do the VIP people get to go out first on the floor?

Conscience, I completely understand where you're coming from (ok, well everything except the M&G's I think it's insulting what they're doing to you) My membership expired in January. I'm happy that I haven't been outed from the message boards because I'm not a paying LPU member (despite being one for almost 4 years) I'm just not quite sold on making such an investment in the new setup they have at the moment.

The summits sound wonderful and I think are a fantastic idea, but again, that's an investment in itself...unfortunately more than I can spend to participate in. If there was even a package to be sent out with the small fortune you're spending to be a member now.

I love the band, and I'll support them in any way I can, but I can't say that shelling 60$ just for the satisfaction of knowing that I'm a paying member makes me any less of a fan than anyone else here, paying or not. Maybe it's the recession that's made me so stingy, LOL! But I feel if I'm gonna be spending more, I should be getting more bang for my buck. I haven't seen that yet.

Aw I'm sorry you are having such a bad experience.  I can understand how that would change your perception.  I can understand people's being unsatisfied with the new LPU but I just hate seeing people complain about things, you know what I mean? Your situation is different.  I guess I am just happy and thankful to be back in the loop about LP, there were many years I couldn't afford the membership.  Hopefully things will change with next years memberships.

Melissa - thanks, but I'm honestly not counting on it anymore at this point...

Also, there are quite a few people who have discussed not renewing their memberships as soon as their current one expires because they're so dissatisfied with how things have been going this year. LPUX didn't even send out any kind of package like they have in the past; we have to pay extra for any merch we want. I've said it before and I'll say it again, unless we just happened to live close enough to (or have buttload of money to pay to get to) where they held the Summits...our memberships are currently paying for the satisfaction of knowing that we support Linkin Park on an official basis. If that's all my $60 is paying for, then I'll skip the membership next year, and just support them by buying their CD's for a quarter of that price. But that's just me. I suppose my whole M&G experience has made me kind of bitter about the LPU, huh?  *shrugs*
