I don't know why I chose to put my cat up as the group picture... Maybe it's because I use my computer to work on my stories, and he's always watching me work. He's kind of like, part of what I do...

I like that cat. Everytime I look at the picture I hear him meow in my head.

His name is Spike. And he's very much a Spike. Half Egyptian Mau, rambunctious little bastard. He's more my mother's cat than mine. I'm just his chew toy...

My own cat's name is Hobbes. He's bigger than most small dogs, half Bengal so he's a leaper, and is very clearly the one in charge. It feels like I sublet from him most days, and most of our 1000 square feet is his and not mine.

Hobbes is a very cute name.

Egyptian Mau is a very interesting type of breed. I know I have a book on cat breeds, or used to. I actually don't know if I still have it but I remember reading about that kind of cat.

So, how did the name Spike come about? Curious me is curious.

I also have a cat, and her name is Angel. (But she isn't exactly an angel all the time. I named her that for another reason though...) I think the kind of breed mine is either Smoky Black American Short Hair (like my first cat was) or Bombay, in which I've read always demanding to be petted a lot. Angel, is for sure that kind of attention whore...and a big baby.

If you post up a picture of Angel, I could probably tell you if she is an American short hair, or a Bombay. Bombay's have a certain shape to their heads and bodies that makes them distinctive. Yeah, I'm a cat lady without the crazy.

My mother's ex-boyfriend picked Spike's name. He just through it out in the open. I liked it because he has a spikey tuft of hair between his eyes. He's a little rat bastard, so, the name suits his personality. Dun worry, we love him, but when you live with a cat who pulls things off shelves, chews on your hands, and regularly tries to eat pins and earrings, you can't help but call him rat bastard.

Haha, I see. Bad Spike! :p
