The Hurricanes and Crusaders kick off week 4 of Super Rugby when they meet in Wellington on Friday. Early betting sentiment has been with the Crusaders.

The Hurricanes go into this match under huge pressure having been beaten at home by the Blues before somehow failing to beat the Reds away last week. They dominated large periods of the match and in particular the final quarter but they could not muster a try over the 80 minutes and eventually lost by 6 points which is pretty much where bookmakers had capped it.

The Crusaders were in the strange position of only playing their 1st match in week 3 and they were put to the sword by the Blues in Auckland. They started 5 point favourites so the 19 point defeat would have been hard to stomach but perhaps more concerning is that they were outscored by 5 tries to 0. They have recovered from poor starts before but will know that a 2nd successive defeat will put them under serious pressure.

Team News

The Hurricanes have made just a single positional switch with Victor Vito and Brad Shield swapping positions meaning Vito starts at 8 and Shield on the side of the scrum.

For the Crusaders Dagg is back at fullback and Johnny McNicholl and and Tom Marshall start on the wings with Tom Taylor and Adam Whitelock benched. In the pack Dominic Bird replaces the injured Luke Romano at lock.
