I am highly impressed with how this album turned out. When "The Catalyst" came out, I will admit, I was very skeptical about what the rest of the album would sound like. Whether if I would like it or not. And at this point in time I am regretting that skepticism. Am I happy that LP went with a completely different sound? Not necesarily, no. But it might help them.

A perfect example is a band such as 30 Seconds To Mars. (I dont give a shit if none of you like them) But, they went from a hard edge punk-rock sound, to more of a mellow-ish rock. Taking away all the goth/emo looks the band portrayed as well. And look where that got them, they're up for two VMA awards and they're songs are off the charts on the alternative rock stations. Anywhooo. I believe that this album was worth the wait.

Personally, I don't think LP sounds like anything like other bands like Papa Roach or Slipknot. Each band has their own sound that no one can copy, even if they're put into a catergory that includes many other bands. But I suppose everyone is entilted to their own opinion. But I feel if you're willing to trash talk a band you're actually a fan of, and the only thing you like are their old album, then you're not a true LP fan...

Linkin Park changes their style of music every single album they make. That is what is so wonderful about them. They lose and gain fans with every album and it doesn't matter. I love all these people complaining about their music changing and it being bullshit. Well don't fucking buy it...and quit your fucking complaining. I have loved LP from the beginning and there isn't a single album I haven't loved. No matter the change. It's called diversity and growing up in music....Obviously not everyone does that in today's world. LP DOES AND ALWAYS WILL ROCK!!!!

This album is awesome. Maybe not comparable to their older albums, but every album is totally different. I like what they did, making it an epic listening event. I can't wait to have all the songs separately, but listening to it all the way through like this...it's like watching a movie, only it's just music.

I'm not even going to try to sway the opinions of others, so I'm going to say that I'm SUPER excited for this new album. Yes, it's different, but they've been different since Day 1. There sound, there music is forever evolving and that's something their fans can't change. I loved Linkin Park's music since the begging and I always will--no matter what!

I give the first two albums 5/5, the 3rd one 4/5 and now A Thousand Suns 2/5, it is hugely disappointing with similar sounding songs, i only enjoy 'The Catalyst' and 'Iridescent' but wouldn't compare it with there previous songs, i have even decided not to go to the concert now as all of us hate the new album!

i feel kind of gypped. not that i can say anything about how Linkin Park releases its music, but seeing as i pre-ordered the album to seemingly get it before anyone else and the full experience and now anyone can basically listen to the album and the documentary, i feel kind of duped by these turn of events. usually these kinds of releases happen after the album releases so what the heck is the logic behind this? This just feels wrong.
