I am not a big fan of the new album. I've loved Linkin Park since Hybrid Theory, and I have to say, I am not a fan of the ATS. LP has the right to do whatever they want and to make whatever sound they want on their album, but this isn't for me. Hopefully they can win me back with the next album.

Okay, i have been a life long LP fan. but honestly. this album freakin SUCKS! i heard 'The Catalyst' released and thought it was gonna be decent. but it honestly, sucks. It kinda sounds like LP was just screwing around with the soundboard. :// And whats with the bunch of short songs? an 18 second song, really?
Mike, what happened to you? You used to back Chester up so well; your voices went together Great! now its just like there's 2 singers. there's no harmonics between you two in this album
To back 'The Catalyst' was the pre-released song, cuz it seems to be one of few decent songs on this album.
I could barely finish recording the album.
I hope the next one is much better. no more softy-ness.

I am so disappointed about this new album. I'm a fan since LP published their first album. But this isn't LP anymore. It's a mix of HipHop, Pop and Boygroup. There are only three songs i would like to hear again, and this is very sad. I really hope they won't play the whole new album on their concert in october =(
And what is the sense of the short tracks betwenn the songs?
WHERE IS THE LP-STYLE? Hard guitars, drums, bass and the awesom mix of Mikes rap-parts and Chesters amazing voice? What have you done LP????

It seems like a lot of my friends and family members who like LP were waiting for their usual music with this album. They didn't get it, but needless to say they loved the album non-the-less. This album is a message from them and their look on life and how it might come to be one day or another. I have posted 4 times in the past 2 days on this topic and I will not stop because this Album is too good to be put down from those who don't understand it.
Again, thanks Linkin Park for bringing out one of the best albums and a new piece of musical art that will forever be remembered by your true fans.

What exactly do you mean by light? Do you mean like the songs are not heavy, like heavy metal enough?? Just wondering.

I loved the album at "first play". And it never happened before.
I didn't have any expectations on how the new sound would be, and of course I wasn't expecting them to repeat themselves. The album is very eclectic, it doesn't fit in any particular genre, which is good. I was getting tired of listening to the same type of music (hello Bon Jovi), and Linkin Park helped me break the habit (...) with A Thousand Suns. I really didn't want to hear anything like Hybrid Theory again, of course it's a great album, but I've been listening to it for what? about 10 years now?
Anyway, only Linkin Park is daring enough to release an album so different .It's clear that they are very aware of how the world are changing, and they are changing with it.

I was surprised when I first heard the album. It was not what I expected, but I am not disappointed. I can see how the band has grown and evolved and I can appreciate the direction they have moved in and cannot wait to see what the videos will look like. I really am loving the catalyst, along with waiting for the end, burning in the skies and more. Thanks Mike, Chester, Joe, Phoenix Brad, Rob. Look forward to seeing you if you make it to China this time around.

@Justin Giles

Added to that, Chester, Mike and Joe have side projects to work on, LP did a lot a of show....But yeah that does not excuse everything. In my opinion ATS is a little "light"....
