Linkin Park rip it up in Newcastle (December 4th, 2010)

December 4th 2010 was without a doubt a day I will remember for ever! The day had arrived that I would be seeing my all time favourite band performing “live”. To say I am a huge fan is an understatement.
I fell in love with their music from the release of their first single.

Excitedly my daughter and I prepared to go to the concert and we left early to ensure the best possible spot in the line. Upon arrival we were one of the first to line up at “Door 1”. I was totally rapt about that!
Never mind that we still had nearly 3 hours to wait for the doors to open. We met up with a couple of young ladies (Grace & Jacinta) who had travelled all the way from Queensland to see Linkin Park. We bonded is a gross understatement. I’ve adopted them as part of my LP family! I was a little
disappointed with the numbers of those attending. It was a small crowd compared to their other performances, however it felt more intimate somehow. I felt that
we were so incredibly lucky to have this opportunity to see them perform.

FINALLY the doors open up and we power walked and positioned ourselves front, dead centre of the mosh pit. What a coup! Excitedly we chatted for yet another hour until the show began, and when it did begin it was magnificent! The band outdid themselves with energy and raw talent. Chester bounded around the stage like the rock god that he is. Mike seemed relaxed and was amazing. Mr Hahn, Brad, Rob & Phoenix just ripped it! They performed quite a few songs from “A Thousand
Suns” and incorporated a lot of the iconic LP songs from previous albums.

It soon became apparent how much energy LP put into their performances as we saw the beads of sweat pouring from the band. They definitely work hard during their performances. Chester and Mike are also very brave men to contend with their fans by heading to the front of the mosh. They were nearly dragged into the crowd and if it wasn't for the bouncers then I think they could have sustained several injuries. Touche to them though for thinking of their fans! That's definitely something LP do well.

The crowd went wild when Mike threw picks out and Rob tossed out his drumsticks. I tried to hard to get a souvenir but alas it was not meant to be. I didn’t want it to end! I was totally gutted when it did end but I look forward to another 2 concerts and the LPU Summit.

One of the best things about attending the Newcastle concert was that my daughter and I had an experience we won’t EVER forget. We bonded even further. We made a lot of new friends as well and I call them my LP
family.

Keep it up LP, you make such a difference to peoples lives just by being you. Don’t ever stop singing! You’re fans love and need you.

Forever a fan

Birthday yesterday, Linkin Park today and it was absolutely fantastic. Took a while for the crowd to get pumping but once we were going, noone wanted to stop lol. Music for relief was wonderful too, loved the photos and made sure I got included. Sleepwalker was an awesome opening act as well and I made sure I got a copy of their LP, even got it signed by the band... ^_^ fantabulous night :D
