When the site launched, it was great because there was only like, passionate people great to discuss with.

 

But lately I went on it and it was only SPAM, SPAM, SPAM and discussions about things not realted at all with LP.

 

I think it's a great idea to temporarily remove it.

Just to help clarify for some of you guys (as we are still getting reports about the chat)...

• Chat has been shut down until further notice, due to a number a reasons, but yes the spamming is the main one
• We are working things out as best & fast as we can to get it back up
• We do not know when (or if) we will be able to bring it back
• Please be paitent as we sort this all out, in the meantime, like Adam posted, you may wish to contribute to the other areas of the site :) 
• We know that there are some options out there (on other sites) to help control the spam however, currently Ning does not offer some of these options [as we've said before] and we are trying as hard as we can to get them.
