Hey guys,

After weeks of hearing the amazing remixes on MySpace... I'm pleased to announce the wait for the real thing is over. Our new single, "The Catalyst," is out today!

To check out the song, you can go to iTunes. If you want more, get "The Catalyst" instantly with any purchase on linkinpark.com--buy anything, get the song immediately, and get the digital version of the whole album for free (even if you buy a t-shirt or skate deck) the moment it becomes available. There are also two great CD/DVD versions of the album that contain the official documentary of the making of the album. Get all this before anyone else here.

In other exciting news: we are proud to announce that the winning version of the "Linkin Park Featuring You" contest on MySpace is NoBraiN, an English teacher from Swidnica, Poland. Overall, we were blown away by the quality of entries, and the excitement by artists and fans alike. We can't thank you enough. We intend to do some special things with many of our favorite entries in the future...but first and foremost, you can hear NoBraiN's winning track here. When I contacted him directly via Skype, he was freaking out. Check that out here.

Before I go, I there's one more note. Our very own Joe Hahn directed an exclusive trailer for the new Medal of Honor game, using music from "The Catalyst." Check it out here.

More updates to come,

Note: "The Catalyst" will be released in the UK on September 6.

@Gman Thanks...that's right.
They took a risk and did a very good job!!!! :-)

No one is already listen to Limp Bizkit or Papa Roach. Where are they??? The have never changed and that's the reason they went down. Do you remember lost Prophets?

LP did it right. The ,,older'' fans know that and stand behind LP. I'm too!!!!

I think the new song is brilliant, it gets better and better every time I hear it. The new sound is totally original, and I can't wait to hear the new album.
As much as I love Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I think its a good thing that LP are taking risks and experimenting, not many bands do and I think they deserve a lot of credit and respect for it.
As for the people that are claiming this is a 'mainstream' song, I'd appreciate an example, because I for one can't think of any.
Can't wait to see LP in Nov :D

@ Martina: They're on the albums Hybrid Theory and Meteora. Keep up with the times, they said themselves they weren't going back to that sound. Nu-metal is dead.

@GMAN2887 Totally agree with that blog, you are completely right, especially for the reasoning behind why they took the risk.

i get the idea of they want to sound different in every album.i'm ok with it and to me that is really what make LP special.
but...honestly i did not expect a techno-like song coz i really hate techno.however my hope still that the rest of the song in this album will come out really great.

God bless us every one
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
And it can't be outfought
It can't be outdone
It can't be outmatched
It can't be outrun

And when I close my eyes tonight
To symphonies of blinding light

Like memories in cold decay
Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky

God save us everyone
Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns
For the sins of our hand
The sins of our tongue
The sins of our father
The sins of our young

I have to agree with DaviNeves. I was unsure the first time I heard it, but I guess what ppl should realize is that THIS is a new direction for LP, and a new direction should ALWAYS be received by an open mind. That's the least they deserve for their courage to follow their artistic instincts. And by the way, I LOVE the track :)

@DaviNeves that is so true
