Hey guys,

After weeks of hearing the amazing remixes on MySpace... I'm pleased to announce the wait for the real thing is over. Our new single, "The Catalyst," is out today!

To check out the song, you can go to iTunes. If you want more, get "The Catalyst" instantly with any purchase on linkinpark.com--buy anything, get the song immediately, and get the digital version of the whole album for free (even if you buy a t-shirt or skate deck) the moment it becomes available. There are also two great CD/DVD versions of the album that contain the official documentary of the making of the album. Get all this before anyone else here.

In other exciting news: we are proud to announce that the winning version of the "Linkin Park Featuring You" contest on MySpace is NoBraiN, an English teacher from Swidnica, Poland. Overall, we were blown away by the quality of entries, and the excitement by artists and fans alike. We can't thank you enough. We intend to do some special things with many of our favorite entries in the future...but first and foremost, you can hear NoBraiN's winning track here. When I contacted him directly via Skype, he was freaking out. Check that out here.

Before I go, I there's one more note. Our very own Joe Hahn directed an exclusive trailer for the new Medal of Honor game, using music from "The Catalyst." Check it out here.

More updates to come,

-Mike

Note: "The Catalyst" will be released in the UK on September 6.

Is it just me or can anyone else in the UK not find the new single on iTunes? I've found it on the US store but not the UK store.

@Jason Jimenez I think so too. If they do always stuff like HT or Meteora, they're getting boring after a time. I like the new style. It's still LP.
I don't know what's going on, with the ppl who made so bad comments.
To all you: stop listen to this song if you don't like it. You can write what you think about it, but not in that way. Are you serious?

LP is LP because they do their own thing. They weren't that successful, when they made the same music over and over again.
As the others told us...it's just ONE song from 15.
I'm a fan, since Crawling waS released. They growed...and we growed with them.
You could see, that they are getting new, as they released New Divide. It's an awesome Song and it hits the charts. Blackbirds is incredible and you are not alone. It's new...but listen to the lyrics. IT'S STILL LINKIN PARK!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why everyone is saying this is mainstream? You give me at least one song that sounds exactly like this that is being played on mainstream radio and then I will agree with you.
If you wanted "the old LP" and they gave us that old sound going onto their 4th album all you whiny bastards would be saying something along the lines of "this sounds the same" or "can't they do anything different?'. The same gets said for any other band and if you THINK you wouldn't be saying something like that, then you're just lying to yourself.
Stop trying to be musical critics by just one song from an album. LP is known to shift styles mid album and I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing. They do stuff that THEY like, not that we like. If they produced stuff that the fanbase loves more, it'd be a pretty shitty album.

If you want that old sound, go listen to those albums. Until then, I support the guys on whatever they do.
