My daughter and I were able to go see LP in Phoenix AZ this year. I had bought her the tickets for Christmas and she was beyond excited to get to go. The show was awesome. When we got home, my son was so excited for us. When we got the digital download of the concert, he listened to it over and over again, asking what Chester and Mike was doing, asking about the lights and etc. He wanted to know every detail of the concert over and over again.
A few years ago, I would have taken him to this concert, but he has Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. He cannot walk, has a horrible curve to his spine, and is on hospice services due to the effects this disease has had on his heart. He is the BIGGEST LP fan I have ever seen. He listens to NOTHING but LP in his IPOD while he plays his XBOX. I would have given ANYTHING to be able to take him to an LP concert.
Well LAST NIGHT, LP played at the Wienner Roast and there was a webcast of it. My beloved son got to watch it! He was so tired, but he fought it and stayed up and got to see it all! I dont know when I have ever seen him so happy! He didnt complain about the sound being mixed up, or what songs they sang, he just enjoyed every single moment of the concert. I just want to say thanks to the folks who do the wienner roast, and thank you to LP, for making my son the happiest 16 year old on the planet for a few hours.
Here is a link to his Caringbridge Page if you ever want to hear what he has been through, compliments of Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. LP, again thank you!
