At the beginning of the clip you see how child is sad of his father's death and the words from the song represents his feelings at this exact moment, "Wash the sorrow from off my skin and show me how to be whole again....". The kid respects his father, so he goes on his father's steps, to the US Army.
Your clip expresses all feelings: his father fought for freedom, restored justice to the world; the kid to went to the US Army in the honor of his father, and he felt that was his duty, and gave hope to those who lost it.
