Linkin Park 5th album in production!

Linkin Park have been working on a new studio album for two months now, and the album will again be different. The lyrics will be more serious, political and mature. The album will create contrasting opinions but Chester Bennington is saying that's what he wants. It will again be a major shift in style.

Chester Bennington also said "The music is great and well ahead of where we were expecting to be." He also added it will contain a lot of good songs and will be different from a Thousand Suns and will feature less noises than pevious efforts.

So what can we expect? All I know is too expect the unexpected.

Anyone have any ideas on what their new sound could be like?

Update: 22nd March 2012

Chester Bennington has said that the new album will go back to a more familiar LP sound. That it won't sound experimental like A Thousand Suns did.

"With this album, we've incorporated a lot of guitar work with big choruses and the heavier electronic stuff to give it that really big wall of sound feeling without getting too metal. This will be more familiar to people than 'A Thousand Suns' was, where we were like 'Fuck it, we're just going to go bonkers."

Could this become an established LP sound? Chester Bennington believes so.

Could this also sound more familiar to the older albums yet still be on a different wavelength? If so, this could attract more of the old fans back.

The lyrics will be social and personal, therefore being based mainly on relationships. The lyrics will not include politics as some people suggested.

In my opinion, the album will come out late Summer/Autumn, but definitely this year!

I thoroughly enjoyed A Thousand Suns. The very serious nature and political themes of the lyrics were amazing. If Album 5 can be better, the whole thing will be bought on day one.

I personally liked ATS a lot, it was something I never expected to hear from, well, anyone. I don't think any other band could have come up with that music. I hope the new one is even more bizarre and left field than ATS. As long as they continue to do the unexpected and previously unheard, I'm fine with that. I would like to hear a little more metal though

Linkin Park nowadays don't care anymore about the fan's expectations. They write the music they want, to a point where they feel it is really good and they don't expect every fan to like it. When Hybrid Theory came out the rap/nu metal sound of the album was very unique and was something different at the time. Linkin Park always like to try different things out. But if it wasn't for their first two albums, they probably wouldn't be famous. Most fans do prefer the old Linkin Park but also appreciate the other albums. Like me.

Anyways for their 5th album, I hope there is still some rapping by Shinoda and I hope it has a 'catchy' feel to some songs. Chester has a fantastic voice so I am not at all worried by whatever he does in the album. Rolling in the Deep by Chester was absolutely brilliant.

Im sorry to say to anybody who actually liked ATS but i bet that their 5th album is gonna be even worse, i didn't like ATS at all. I regret spending that 15 dollers last september, Now i might have to worry about spending another 15 bucks on another failure. So im sorry to say. but i can already tell that this album is gonna be just as bad as ATS if not just as bad worse. Sorry LP but your new style sucks and tackling contraversial subjects is not your style. Oh and BTW I know a band that would do what you have done. Nine Inch nails would have changed their style and makie it look something, And im fine with that. But that's Nine Inch Nails. Your Linkin Park and you already have a sound attached to your name.. Sigh what else.... Oh and most of your tracks on ATS are mostly preludes, Fact is that the preludes are better then the music. And Wretches And Kings. I have to give credit to Mr Han, Because he doesn't scratch anymore like why? He used to be a producer but not anymore, Rick Rubin Changed you guys completely. And quite frankly it sucks. But Like I said Wretches And Kings sounds like Reggae, And your not good with that. Blackout, Chester Bennington, Scream Rapping? I know you guys have way more potential and it pisses me off that you don't use it. You Guys have become sell outs now, and it's kinda sad. You've become more mainstreamed and you let fame and fortune get to your head, sorry to say but im sticking with you old music and your old music only, because i can now name a ton of bands that can own you guys now anyday, 1. Limp Bizkit and their gold cobra beats ATS by a longrun. 2. Lamb Of God, Sorry to say Chester but your an amatuer compared to Randy Blyth, 3. Korn. Just because you got to sing with them in Queened of the Damned doesn't mean your the same as you were back then. 4. Disturbed. They are Ten no wait, They Are a BILLION times better then you, and that's without a doubt. And last but not least 5. You LP. Your old Music beats your new music which is kinda sad, hey i might be restating the obvious but This should spark an idea to a lot of fans. Im Sorry LP, But you guys should have seperated when ATS came out, and if you do plan on doing so then Break apart when your 5th album comes out, I don't know who you write your music for, You may be doing it for yourself, But where would you be without the fans? Answer me that.. Im sorry to anybody who disagree's with me Oh and to any fanboy who wants to curse me out. here is a F**k you in advance. R.I.P LP
