Tonight marked my third visit to Rod Laver to see LP perform, and I left just as blown away as I ever have been.
From the very beginning they brought an energy to the stage that few bands can compete with, and managed to keep it all going until the very end of their set. The performance was top notch and even though the tonight's gig was far from sold out, LP did not compromise on their show or their efforts.
The set list was chosen perfectly, mixing together the singles (and future singles) of A Thousand Suns in with the classic hits we've grown to love. The first verse of little known gem 'Reading My Eyes' made its way into Bleed It Out, while monsters like One Step Closer and Faint never fail to win the crowd over. I'm amazed by how well their new tracks translate live, and am convinced that current single Waiting for the End is their best song to date.
I know I'm preaching to the converted here, and I know we're all here because we love them, but if you haven't seen them play live, then you don't know LP. And the best part of it all? I get to go back again and see them tear the roof off a sold-out Rod Laver Arena tonight!
