I did a blog post for last night's gig, so I'll keep this one short and sweet!
Before the gig I was lucky enough to be chosen for as part of the LPU for a M&G pass. Meeting your musical idols isn't something that happens every day and needless to say I forgot everything that I wanted to tell them the minute they walked in the door. It was a great experiencem and I know that I, and other members of the LPU definitely appreciated it! Members of the LPU were responsible for convincing the guys to premiere Blackout, so now you know who to thank!
Their set list was very similar to last night's performance, although the beginning and end were almost switched. Instead of 'The Messenger' and 'Papercut' we were treated to 'From the Inside' and 'Lying From You' - both amazing tracks. They also played the full version of 'Burning in the Skies' which I believe may have been the first time as well? Not sure about that one, but it was fantastic nonetheless. I asked Mike and Brad if they were going to play 'A Place for my Head' in the bridge of 'Bleed it Out' and they replied that they weren't sure yet. They did play it, and it was awesome to hear one of my personal faves being played amongst their newer material. Not sure if I had anything to do with that, but I'd like to think I did!
All in all it was a great night as usual, with the boys cementing themselves as one of the world's finest live acts.
