Sinead and John Kerr from Scottland decided to used the song Krwing from the Reanimation album in the free dance. They said that even though the judges are from an older generation, they went with a song that would appeal to their fans and to the younger generation. Something a little different. They did pretty great and Sinead lifted John off his feet! They decided to switch the gender roles.
I am in the US but got to give some love to them for using Linkin Park in the Olympics.
Why did you pick Linkin Park as the music for your original dance?
Sinead and I like to pick more contemporary music. We feel that we almost want to make ice dance a little bit more cool, and that using bands like Linkin Park or Muse might make it more accessible.
The Broxburn pair - whose progress can be measured in the disappointment they felt at finishing only fifth in the European Championships in Tallinn in January - have been skating this year to 'Krwing' by the Californian band Linkin Park.
It is not the sort of music normally associated with the graceful world of Olympic ice dancing and John Kerr admitted: ''We have always been regarded as a pair who will go for some pretty off-the-wall music choices.
''I think the judges actually appreciate us trying to find a different sound or a different look to bring to ice dance. If you're not using modern, up-to-date music that a young generation can relate to, then the sport's going to die.''
From The Canadian Press via Yahoo Sports Canada:
"You're looking at snowboarding…and that's cool, it's sort of the Linkin Park generation. We wanted to show that you can ice dance to modern music as well — it doesn't have to be classical."

I know it says 2009 but you get an idea of the performance. They were wearing something similar.
