THE RAID: REDEMPTION NOW AVAILABLE ON ITUNES

I got a phone call about a year ago, asking if I would score "a little Indonesian action movie." It had a lot of promise, and was starting to get noticed in the independent film circles where it was being shown. The movie was made on a small budget with a lot of heart, and featured the Indonesian martial art form, Silat. The guy on the other line said, "The director and I really like your remixes and Fort Minor stuff; we were wondering if you'd be interested in doing something like that."

The remixes and FM album were things I've done in my spare time, for fun. And I had always wanted to do a film score. So I said yes.

The Raid: Redemption has gone on to win awards at film festivals all over the world, and has gotten amazing reviews from critics and fans alike. It features all-new music that I wrote with Joe Trapanese (TRON, Daft Punk, M83), and songs I made with Chino Moreno (Deftones, †††) and Get Busy Committee (produced by Scoop DeVille).

Comment by Juan Andres on August 18, 2012 at 11:08am: Best scene.....last fight, the two brothers getting beat up isss extremely brutalll.....if you see normally in martial arts movie, you see the exact point where the fight is all coreographed, the guys are thinking " so first my turn to attack, then his, then i beat that guy and knock him dead by pushing him"..... and all you can think of is "are they dumb?", and you don´t see the fight just the camera shake so you don't see how bad they actually "fight". For The Raid, i had low expectations at first, but enjoyed it tooo much, i repeated the scene where Rama.....(spoiler!!!).....mad dog.......and the first attack was like " droooooopppp the shotguuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnn! itssss too daaaarrrrkkkkkkk in theeereeee!!!!!!"
