On Saturday night, live from the Madison Square Garden theater, WBA Middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin will take on tough Philadelphia native Gabriel Rosado.
It promises to be an exciting fight, and is a great way to kick off 2013. The world triple header will also include Gennady Golovkin vs. Gabriel Rosado for the WBA Middleweight Title and Rocky Martinez vs. Juan Carlos Burgos for the WBO Super Featherweight Title.

Gennady Golovkin won silver at middleweight in the 2004 Olympics in Athens beating Ramadan Yasser and Andere Dirrell and won fights over Lucian Bute and Andy Lee in the World Amateur Championships in 2003. He has progressed to having a total of 23 fights of which 20 of them been won by way of knock outs.
The Khazakstanian turned professional in Germany and won his first 19 fights by knockout and on August 14th 2010, he won the vacant Interim Middleweight Title, defeating Milton Nunez by 1st round KO in Panama City.
Golovkin’s style of boxing is straightforward which makes him a danger to his opponents, it has been reported that he is not able to keep his sparring partners. He put on his best performance in his American debut on HBO by savagely beating Grzegorz Proskay by fifth round stoppage.
On this occasion he will be sternly defending his middleweight titles against the exciting Gabriel Rosado, who began his career going the distance against Fernando Guerrero. He followed this with a larger win by stopping Eschew Powell in the ninth round to win the WBO Intercontinental Light Middleweight title.
